Regional Belt Test / Mr. Sid & Dylan Nelson Demo


Flower Mound Taekwondo school hosted this Belt Test in the Lamar Middle School in Flower Mound. Over 500 students tried their hardest to advance to the next level! Congratulations to all students who did it as well as to those who will have to try it next time again. Mr. Nelson, 7th Degree Black Belt and his son Dylan Nelson, 2nd Degree Black Belt from Lexington, KY did a wonderful “father and son” demonstration. Black Belt Clinic with Mr. Sid Nelson


We invited Mr. Sid Nelson, 7th Degree Black Belt from Lexington, KY to be a guest judge at our December Belt Test. He taught us some great and fun moves from judo and jiu-jitsu. Students were flipping each other down on mats and using arm bars to immobilize their partners. These clinics were lots of fun and we will surely invite Mr. Nelson soon again!


November


Regional Tournament in Katy, TX


Many competitors from our DFW region and Tyler and Katy, TX tried to do their best and win precious gold, silver and bronze medals. Our school in Katy, TX hosted this wonderful tournament. There were many smiling faces, shiny medals and new friendships forged for life amid the fierce competition. We can’t wait to go to the next one! Bring in on, already! There are some pay backs to be made soon... ;-)

Class In The Grass


Our Fall Class In The Grass was a huge success. We sparred, we worked on kicks, we practiced our forms and self-defense moves. We had a pie eating contest, chili cook-off and picnic. Great day filled with lots of Taekwondo goodness and camaraderie among all.


Regional Belt Test / Mr. David Church’s Demo


Our Southlake Taekwondo school hosted this Regional Belt Test at the Dawson Middle School. Our guest, Mr. David Church, 5th Degree Senior Black Belt and a school owner from Maryville, TN put on a great show. He taught our students a great lesson about perseverance and reminded us that when we stumble we won’t give up. We pick ourselves up and try again until we succeed! Mr. David Church taught a very fun clinic to our students. We visited the Egypt while doing drill like The Pyramid, The Nile River, The Sphinx Push Ups, etc. The Junior clinic finished off with Juniors attacking Mr. Church who armed himself with pool noodles. It was simply hilarious. Overall all the kids, teens and adults had a blast.


August


Hawaiian Falls Water Park Party


Around 700 Taekwondo America students of all ages, their families and friends had a great time at our private party in the water park. This was a fantastic afternoon and evening filled with fun and laughter. Many new friendships were forged at this event. It is truly great to be part of such a wonderful group such is the Taekwondo America schools in the DFW area!

Black Belt Clinic with the President of Taekwondo America, Mr. John Emmons from Kissimmee, FL


Regional workout with a 6th Degree Black Belt, Mr. Emmons took place in our Flower Mound Center. Mr. Emmons taught students the sparring drills. We also got to play fun Taekwondo games such as “Head Hunters” and we got to roll around on mats. Click here for fun pictures.

Regional Belt Test / Mr. Bobby Lindamood’s Demo


Our Coppell Taekwondo school hosted this Regional Belt Test. Our guest, Mr. Lindamood, 4th Degree Senior Black Belt and a school owner from Roanoke VA, motivated all DFW students with a great Taekwondo demonstration. He finished it with breaking concrete blocks and smashing coconuts with his bare hands. Click here to see Mr. Lindamood in action.

Mr. Lindamood’s clinic was fun! We were practicing useful self-defense moves such as escapes from holds and grabs. Students were having a blast practicing take-downs when someone tried to push them around. Even simple things like pinching and old fashion slapping took place at the clinic. Thank you Mr. Lindamood!

Regional Tournament in Coppell, TX


Nearly 450 competitors from our DFW region, Tyler and Katy TX tried to do their best today. There were many smiling faces, shiny medals and new friendships forged for life amid the fierce competition.


Class In The Grass


Around 400 people came to our Taekwondo karate workout and a fantastic picnic in Grapevine’s Pickering Part. Wonderful day filled with many prep clinics for the upcoming tournament. Click here to see awesome pictures from the event.

Regional Belt Test / Mr. Warren Davis’s Demo


Regional Testing took place in Lamar Middle School in Flower Mound. Mr. Davis, our guest judge from North Carolina, inspired students with his Taekwondo prowess and technical skill he showed in his demonstration. Click here to see Mr. Davis in action.

Mr. Warren Davis, 7th Degree Black Belt from Greensboro, NC has given our students great sparring tips on foot work, distance and how to take advantage of side stepping. Both Junior and Teen/Adult clinics had incredible attendance as all advanced students were eager to learn from Mr. Davis. Click here to see pictures.

Regional Belt Test


This was our largest Regional Belt Test yet - 530 students tried their best to advance in ranks! To ease the anxiety we had our winning demo teams from Highland Village and Flower Mound perform at the beginning and middle of the testing day. Great job everyone! Black Belt Clinic with Mrs. Jenny Lacy


Regional workout with 6th Degree Black Belt, Mrs. Jenny Lacy was lots of fun. This time students were learning about sparring. How to make it more enjoyable. Mrs. Lacy shared many great tips and simple sparring techniques. At the end Juniors played the game of tag and Teens and Adults sparred for what seemed to many of us like an eternity. This was a great, great clinic!


January


National Tournament in Kissimmee, FL


Heated competition, smiles, tears, medals. Many new friendships made. Many new experiences gained. On top of all the individual achievements our Demo Teams from our Highland Village and Flower Mound schools won 1st and 3rd places at the National Demo Team competition. What can be said about a 2 day event filled with Taekwondo goodness? That is was super awesome and we can’t wait to go to the next one!
